i have never run out.
first i figure out how far i can go...
fill it up
set your mileage
go untill its on empty.
fill up again
how many gallons did you put in?
you have a 11 gallon tank or so.
i can go probably 35 miles after mine constantly sits below E and still only fill up 10 gallons.

i'll fill mine full tank with a 95 ls swap and i only get about 200 miles to the full tank haha hella bad....iono what can be wrong...
how many gallons is in a 93 CX?
my needle would go pass the empty line and probably would have about half a gallon left

Eh, I hope none of you guys are doing this while it below freezing out. You should keep at least a quarter in your tank when its below 32 degrees outside, or else condensation could gather in your lines and f*** something up.

x2.
Not to mention that the fuel cools the fuel pump, so constantly low fuel levels can lead to trouble. Also, letting the tank run bone dry can allow it to suck sediment into the system. Letting injectors run dry isn't a great idea either.
Plus the fact that if you run out of gas on a public road, you're an *******. If you do it more than one time, you should probably be removed from society.

lmao, Ive ran out of gas once... less than a block from the gas station, but it didnt matter, it was uphill so there was no coasting. I felt like an *******

my gauge sucks it moves up and down but never stays at a steady position
i brought it to my mechanic for him to fix it turns out the cluster is broken and he told me to buy a new one do you think its worth spending the money on it?

That's somewhat normal. The fuel level around the tank sensor changes due to gravity and lateral-g forces as the car moves, so naturally a little fluctuation is to be expected.
Now if the needle keeps bouncing around quickly, that's a problem.

Is he sure it is a problem on the cluster end and not a problem with the sending unit?
As far as clusters go, you don't have to buy the entire cluster - you can buy just the fuel gauge component if it actually is broken. They're not expensive new, and they're incredibly cheap used.

Re: How low does your gas gauge go (Targa250R)
i have an ej8 and mine works weird. Id fill it up and go for 100 miles and my guage woiuld read that its 3/4 full. After the next 100 miles my guage would read that im at 1/4. After that I can usually go for another 100 miles then fill it up, but I would only put 10 gallons in it and it would be full. My tank is 12 gallons so i guess i get 30mpg

Re: How low does your gas gauge go (phazedd)
Assuming a 2000 Civic EX with manual transmission, the combination fuel and temperature component for the gauge cluster (part number 78130-S41-C71) is $40.80 US new from Honda.
For automatic transmission (PRND indicator tree is included), the part number is 78130-S41-C51 and the price is the same.
You have to be very careful installing it, because the gauge needles are fragile.

Yeah, that temp gauge comes in handy now and again .
@ Original Post:
When you get to like, "red" or "E" or whatever the lats tick is I think you still have like a gal and a half left...
Doesn't really matter. Honda Civic (92-95) gas amount sensors are horribly inaccurate due to a big *** foam ball on the float device which changes with the way the fuel sloshes around causing your gas gauge to read differently depending on whether you're flat, going up hill, or going down hill.
@ that, anybody find a fix for it? It can't be done by swapping out the cluster, b/c the fault is in the gas tank, and swapping gas tanks to make the fuel gauge accurate isn't worth it one bit. Sorry if it seems like I'm thread jacking at me.
Though I think it's 1.5 or so left.
