how long to keep a motor
how long does everyone keep their motor before replacing or overhauling? mine has a lot of miles cuz of daily drivin to work etc. i have an oil leak that i have to fix and the motor isnt pulling as hard. my friend is sayin swap a b16 in but i dont want a downgrade in power. is that the best option or should i overhaul?

not to be a smart *** but i think my name says what i have. it wouldnt make sense to have a d series or b16 wit that name. i run an LS/VTEC. how long does everyone keep their motor? or do you just run it till it dies then swap?

not to be a smart *** but not everyone who has the words ls and vtec in their username actually has a lsvtec.
and keep it till it dies why waste money if its running well.

agreed. if it was meant to have vtec, it would have came with it.

that isnt a valid reason cuz if you think about it, that applies to just about everything. A LOT of people do swaps and that wasnt meant to be according to Honda but we do it anyway. that also goes for turbos, 9 second motors, etc. take any mod and anyone from honda will say...if it was meant to be it would have come with it. so spare those kinds of statements

dude there is a little diffrence from throwing an entire engine in than mix and matching parts. espically because honda's engine bay layout is the exact same for almost all models
and you cant compare a 9 second honda to a lsvtec. thats like comparing a 5 second top fuel funny car to a street car. 2 completley diffrent world.

Re: how long to keep a motor (Kamin)
just becuase things are similar doesnt make it meant to be...
look at people tryin to "frankenstein" different motors into cars i.e. h22, f20, and now k20. just cuz "it wasnt meant to be" doesnt mean it shouldnt be done.
btw: but it would be nice if someone answered my question
