patience grasshopper...it is well worth the wait.
Besides, you can still search and browse the old threads and learn alot that way.

it can only really go on number of posts, number of days here, number of searches pefformed? quality of posting? who you know on here? grammar? hours active?
i would really like to know what is taken into account to decide when it is time for someone to become a full member. is it an automated process or does a person decide?
i am particularly interested because i was a full member but lost my cookies, pass word and old e-mail, and am missing the benefits i once had. i am also having problems with having to continually shut a pm window which i dont have access to, every time i change topic.
if it goes on post count then i will probably have a long wait, i'm sure ive seen 80+ post trial users, i spend most of my time reading, and trying to help if i can.
previously ben_vtec, 100-200 posts, 1.5 yrs 100% rating

I'm in with that trial user thing. I don't know about member stuff, but this site is really awesome. Great job. By the way what are the percent things for?

My big reason is I want to get at the "Classified" section, but you can't post in there until your a full member.

PS- I'm in desperate need of valve covers and intake manifolds, if you have anything laying around send me an email at matrob@dnet.net. Ha, there I just posted my classified.

Okay I'll leave this post open and from now on if anyone has a Tral User question we can link them to this thread, okay?
The Trial User period was installed because too many jackasses were signing up just to flame people, or to sell stuff and then leave. We were constantly flooded with ******** looking to start fights by posting multiple topics and replying in every single thread that they could with flames.
We also had too many unknown people scamming people in the classifieds, so having a trial user period solves a lot of these problems.
The Trial User period lasts for 20 days. If you don't post things that are against the rules and your % rate doesn't drop below 96% you will then be a Normal User and you can post in any forum and also recieve IMs, etc. You will basically have full access to all forums (except for the Moderators' Corner) and it will certainly be more fulfilling than the limited access Trial User period.
The Trial User period doesn't change due to post count!
In fact I encourage trial users to read more and post less so they will be able to go with the flow easier in here.
Once your Trial period is over you can also chosse an avatar (personal picture) and your title will be "Honda-Tech Member."

Re: How long does it take to become a full member? (The Real Funk)
Thats basically what it means... maybe we can get another moderator in here to explain that too. Then we can just make this a standard for all newbies to read, haha.

Re: How long does it take to become a full member? (SM Polishing)
Percent using noob terms, j/k, remember when you or your kids were in elementary school and they would rate your behavior? Thats sorta like % if you are stupid and **** people off a mod can take away percent. With less percent you lose privladges such as avatars and people might even trust you less.
