Default Eg w/obd1 gsr. Throwing Knock sensor.. HELP!!

running a obd1 gsr swap with stock gsr ecu. I've added the wire including pins to tower plug from ecu. Purchased new knock sensor, checked continuity between ecu plug to knock sensor plug, checked out good. Cannot figure out why I'm throwing the code, motor sounds fine, hits vtec. The spark plugs have a black ring around two threads as seen in picture. Any ideas or something I am missing??? Changed rotor and cap.

If you clear the code, how long does it take for the code to return ???

will get pictures after work. The engine harness already had the plug, wire and pin, I wired it from the cabin harness putting a pin in the plug, running wire through firewall and down to the ecu putting the pin in D3. After i finished wiring, i ran a continuity test to make sure the wire had signal from one end to another

did you use shielded wiring in the bay for the knock sensor?

I believe you only get the code if there is a wiring or sensor issue. If there is knock the ecu just pulls timing I believe.

You may have continuity end-to-end, but I found that I did not have the connector pushed all the way in the plug at the ECU:

This, the knock sensor plug is shielded if I recall correctly when I pulled it off of a jdm harness to be re-used.

^^^ This...

See here, where @wxman94ej1 did a nice write up on his issues with the knock sensor: https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-.../#post51324737

believe it is fixed. Drove it for a couple miles, hit vtec through 2nd and 3rd with no light turning on. I switched back to the old sensor, de-pinned the cabin harness and re-pinned it. Then made sure the pin was all the way in the ecu plug. So far so good. Little crap like that is such a headache, thanks guys

Glad that worked! Did you use shielded wire?
