from the patterns we can learn the following:
first letter = country of orgin
J = Japan
C= Canada
A=USA
G=Europe
second digit, if 5, 7, 9 then ecu is auto usually
third digit denotes the version/variation
</TD></TR></TABLE>
I don't see how the 003 is identified though. The first digit is not a letter, so how can you identify the country of origin? I have this: 37820-p73-003 that I am trying to figure out what it is. It is an ITR ecu, but I don't know if it is USDM or JDM

Re: "How to indentify your ECU" (rockysmainman)
I have 2 ecu's I need help with .
1. P75 - AO2 would this be :
96-00 Integra LS/GS , US , OBD2 , 5speed . Is that right ?
2. P75 - AO4 would this be :
96-00 Integra LS/GS , US , OBD2b , 5speed . Is this right ?
Just want to make sure I am using the right one for my application .

no, obd1 ecu's differ from make (ford ecu wont work on honda and vice versa)
and as long as you change the map to w/e motor you are running (bin file) the civic and intergra ecu's will be swapable, and with some harness work they will run on accords (the turbo accord 94-97)

Re: "How to indentify your ECU" (dadsvtechonda)
Hmm.
Questions:
Does eg6/SIR2 manual and auto have different ecu?
Does eg6 with tcs and eg6 without tcs have different ecu?
How to tell them apart?
Does tcs has a stand alone ecu?

no iirc. they are the same except resistors in diffrent spots, a japanese ecu auto to manual swap the resistors are in diffrent spots. so it is up to outo move the resitor to the right spot.
the tcs is built in on these cars, minus integra/accord. on icivics tho the tcs is on board
auto and manual? easiest way see if the resitors are in the right spot, there is also a way to tell by the lettering.
the tcs is only remote on integras, accords, preludes. and automatics. manuals do not have tcs units Obviously

Re: "How to indentify your ECU" (RS-2)
You sure manual eg6 no tcs?
Cause I saw one manual with tcs before.
I even saw a meter cluster manual tcs around here before....
Another thing.
Can anyone provide me with the ecu codes for Manual EG6 SIR2 with TCS year 1992?
I found a 2ndhand parts shop but I need the ecu codes.

Re: "How to indentify your ECU" (RS-2)
Just checked with spare parts dealer....
They got several p30.
But I dunno which one do I need.
Mine is a 5 speed manual eg6 with tcs and abs.
Which code would I need to find?

Re: (MOVE OVER)
This is a great topic thanks!
I have just one question tho...
In my 93 CX the ECM code is P09-A00.
I think it's possibly bad and am looking for a replacement.
Suggestions?
Thanks,
Rey

Re: "How to indentify you ECU"
I have a P2E-337 and I am assuming this ECU is 5sp, i've checked really hard inside the ECU and I cannot find the RP17 jumper but I did find the RP18 jumper and that is not even jumped across. So that tells me the RP18 is not for identifying if it is a Auto or Manual like the OBD1 ECU's do. Wow OBD2 ECU's are so bare inside, nothing like the OBD1 ECU's.
