How to Idenifty a REAL SPOON Carbon Fiber lip?
I am going to buy a Carbon fiber spoon lip I guess these things new are 600.00 or so.
This is what he said
I jsut want to know what I should look for to identify if this is REAL!
"i do not haev the box, but u can clearly see that it has never been mounted. there are no wholes drilled in it. and this is one from when they first came out . it doesnt have a sticker but it has sp stamped right into the mold on the inside. and the guy i got it from is out of state now so i cnat get the reciepts."
Please let me know if this even sounds legit,

do you have pics of the lip at all? You can tell from the weave and the backside if it is at least the same materials that spoon uses.

Spoon has a Spoon Sports label on the back of the lip with a layer of resin over it.

the weave is weird, i believe they all are two peices of carbon meeting in the middle and the will have the spoon lable covered in resin like ^he said.

real spoon lip is raw fiberglass on the inside with a spoon sticker underneath the resin, with 1x1 carbon on the outside. it comes pre-drilled, so if there are no holes, it's 2x2 weave (all knockoffs have 2x2), and it's "stamped" with SP, it's fake.

i forgot to mention the fibergalss, opps. i wonder why they use the ixi for the lips and 2x2 for the mirrors and sp covers. think they would match. hmm

I bought a rolex for $10 made a long time ago, it doesn't sweep like the newer models, it ticks. But that's because its from their first batch...
My point is to trust people as far as you can throw them. Offer him $25 more if you can have him sign a binding legal document that offers full compensation (and a nice ticket for fraud) if it turns out to be fake. My guess is he'll head for the hills.
