Default How I removed my factory pin stripe.

I removed the factory pin stripe from my white 92 hatch today and I came up with a fairly easy way to do it. I'm not really sure what method others used but this way worked really great and didn't scratch/damage the paint at all.

When taking off the pin stripe, plan on doing it in two stages. The first stage is where you remove the sticker part of it. In this case, mine was blue. The second stage is where you need to remove the adhesive(glue).

At first, I took a plain razor, and very carefully, got the blade under the sticker/stripe, then slowly moved to the back of the car slowly slicing the pin stripe portion off.

Once I reached the door I quit. The result should be gray glue on the fender but no more color .

I then sprayed sticker removal (bought from autozone aka checkers) on the remaining glue portion.

While letting that sit, I repeated step one on the door, then the rear quarter panel.

After soaking all of the remaining clue section in the sticker/decal remover, simply (and gently) slide the razor on the strips if glue and they will detach in little string sections that can just be wiped off.

This worked great for me; however remember to wash and buff the car afterwards for a nice result!!!

lata,
Steve
