D16y7 block on 97 Civic Ex
My friend hydrolocked his 97 Civic EX the other day driving through a flooded area, The car has a D16y8 engine in it right now and someone is selling a d16y7 short block, so i was wondering if everything from the D16y8 would transfer over to the D16y7 with no major modifications? I need an answer right away cuz i'm in the process of purchasing the engine.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Yep it should drop right in, The only thing your gonna have to consider is The Cat on Y7 motors are Directly infront of the motor, right off the Exhuast manifold. and on the y8 the Cat is under the motor, So you will have to relocate an o2 sensor, And im sure the y8 ECU will run the motor, but probably not correctly, youll throw codes for Vtec.. ect..
