yeah they are heavy as ish...you can remove most of the tracks, and bracing...but you'll have to do something w/ the big *** hole in your roof

Sunroofs are heavy... I've heard like 100lbs -- and in the highest point in your car, which makes your center of gravity higher, so it's really bad for the cars handling.
Most racers with sunroofs -- e.g. the Teg GSR -- eventually cut out their sunroof and weld in either sheet metal, or a replacement roof they got from a junk yard.
RoadRacer has my ITR roof on his GSR...

Correct me if im wrong, but isnt there a sunroof fill kit you can buy? I went to mmrusa.com and saw one, never actually read up on it, but wouldnt that take care of the problem?

So you guys think it's just as easy as pulling out the roof and tracks?
Do you think Honda would design the car the exact same as the CX/DX/VX body but just have a hole in the roof?
I don't think so.
I'm sure that the entire car is braced more to support the car's weight in the event of a roll-over, which means that Honda probably added more supports to make up for the hole in the roof. There's more to the extra weight than just the glass and tracks themselves - I think the BODY itself is heavier too to brace more for the loss of rigidy due to the sunroof.
Why do you think the Type R has no roof?
I had to deal with this issue myself when I had a perfect 1992 Si. It was absolutely flawless - had a Type R swap, perfect paint, etc. and I had to make the tough decision to sell that car and buy a CX because it was never going to happen right with that pig of an Si. I kept the Type R swap and all my goodies, and they are being transfered onto a CX body that has been completely stripped and color-changed from red to silver.
Weight sucks - taking out the roof would be more trouble for less gains.
Sell the Si - buy a CX/VX or even a DX.

Re: how heavy is the sunroof? can I get rid of it? (B18C5-EH2)
I removed my sunroof from my 1993 DA Integra, it weighed in at 45 pounds total. Ihad a piece of lexan cut and pop riveted it to the roof of the vehicle, it cost me 11 bucks to do and with some silicone it does not leak.
It is ugly though, but if you wanna be lite for cheap, this is the way to go.
I would show you photos but Photopoint stole them all.
