How hard would putting AC into a 93 Sol be?
I love my Sol, the only problem I have with it is it doesn't have AC. I'd kill for my Sol to have AC. Since I finally have money I'm trying to plan out everything I want to do with the car. How hard would it be to set out to retrofit the car with AC?
I'd also eventually like to get a lower mileage engine. Currently the body has 186K but the original engine cooked at 169K and was replaced with an engine from a parts dealer said to have around 100K, but no way of knowing for sure. Body isn't pristine but it's not bad at all. Part of me thinks it would be easier/cheaper to sell my Sol and just buy one with AC and lower miles.

I pulled an AC system from a junkyard near me for like $20, pump, wiring and all but it took me a couple hours probably to get everything and putting it in just didn't end up being worth it to me. It literally is just bolt the parts in, plug in the harness, pull a vacuum and fill with refrigerant. I ended up not putting the system in and used the evaporator for a TIG welder water cooling rig, but there are write ups and it's been done...
So, in summary, it's not that expensive, and it's not that hard, just time consuming...

Also considering having a summer Sol and a winter Sol. Too many choices. I guess I'm going to have to search for quality parts, tally up the potential cost and make a decision.

easy to install ac. If your ac was removed then everything is there. If it came from the factory without ac then your going to need a donor car. Shouldnt be hard to find some tho and everything should be under $800 charged up and blowing cold air. avg price tho $400-500
