how hard is it to remove gas and temp needles
just priced my assembly for gas and temp replacement and was wondering does that included new needles and how hard is this to do can some one give me the how to please thanks

What car are you referring to ? I have a 00 Civic Dx Hatchback and the needles do not come off with out breaking the gauge.. You can take out the whole gauge.. its a simple operation.. A couple screws here.. A few there.. bang.. your done..

My cluster has been taken apart a few times for gauge face swapping.
I took two flat head screwdrivers, one on each side, pushed down, popping them needles off. But now I put my temp needle on wrong. I reads in the read for hot, when the car's temp needle should be in the middle. Easy to fix though, I'm just lazy about it.

Nods.. My friend had a 92-95 Civic hatchback... And he wanted to help me swap my face gauges... Thats why I know they will not come off without breaking... atleast on a 00 Dx...On His 92-95 they just popped off... I ended up buying a new temp gauge and gas gauge.. I think the total price was around $35 each.. about 2 years ago.. Im sure it hasnt dropped much ....

my friend used a fork, yes thats right, a fork, and they popped out, and you could put it right back on.

its real easy to do. the gauge for my 00 si cost like 15 bucks i think. its a full direct replacement. the only thing you need to do is, make sure you have a completely full tank of gas. that way you can move the needle to the complete top and then move the temp to all the way cold. then it will be completely calibrated. i did it like 2 years ago and its been fine ever since.
