Default how HARd...

hey guys, i was wondering how hard is it to remove and replace catalytic converter because my cat. is retarded... makes this RATTLING NOISE after i hit 2000 rpm... I want to just order a new one and put it on myself... b/c i no they wil charge me over 100 bux to remove & replace!

Fairly easy, give it a shot and remember to use jack stands. You'll have to get a small ring that goes between the cat and the exhaust. They only cost about 10 bucks from honda.

On the install difficulty level i'd give it a 2 out of ten.

There is a good chance of this, but a breaker bar or a pipe to the wrench should do the trick.

if it rattles you dont have to remove the cat just remove the heat shield y0!

yeah it shouldn't be that big of a deal, like he said it might just be your heat sheild but if its not, hit the bolts with some BP Blaster before you start and hope you dont brake any...

just soak them in pb blaster and take a breaker bar to it.

Just use a ratchet with a pipe over then end of it. And SLOWLY loosen it... like push on it let off a little push on it let off a little. You don't want to strip it or snap it

Yea its prolly the shield..mine rattled for a while cause it rusted out at the bolt points, but i fixed it by strappin it on with one of those screw on circular clamp things...sorry its late...
