Default How to fix broke manual window crank? Snapped loose! **Pic inside**

I saw this thread --> HERE

Pretty much the problem I am having, but no help offered.

Car: 1996 Cx

How the hell do I get inside the door any further? Anyone with experience with this problem? I have a straight up manual window right now. I have to slide the glass up and down by sandwhiching my hands around the glass

Thanks for any help!

Here's the pic of what is broke:

You need to replace the window regulator.

First you need to unbolt the window glass from the regulator. You will have to roll the window down a bit, so you can get to the screws.

Then you need to unbolt the regulator from the door(you can see two of the bolts in that picture. Then slide the regulator out of the big opening in the lower part of the door.
After that, install a new regulator in the reverse order. Make sure you get the window to slide back in its track properly.

that's an easy fix with 2 people, get another actuator $10 online junkyard, probably $5 local junkyard, then follow what slopoke said. It's just a few bolts, the hard part is keeping the window steady while bolting everything back in, I did it by myself, but would have been much easier with another person.

Thanks guys for the help

Can you tell me if I need the entire assembly #(5,10)?? Or do I just need the motor part and not the crossbars?

Thanks again

since we're on the topics of manual-crank windows, my 97 EK's driver-side window doesn't crank up all the way; like 1.5" is open and that's how far the window cranks. any suggestions?

have someone hold the window in place, and roll the crank down...

You can only buy it as the whole assembly.

Too bad this is on a 1996, I would have shipped one of mine out to you. I just changed both of mine out a few hours ago. You'll only need one person to do, remove the glass, lifting it to the outside (away) of the car. When you do the regulators, roll the window 1/3 up, it will give you perfect access to the two bolts of the regulator.
