Default how easy is replacing manual window regulator?

Hi, my friend's 98 DX coupe has a messed up driver's side window regulator, manual. Has anyone replaced one of these before? I got a manual for with the steps that say how to do it, but was just wondering if there's anything else i should watch out for, or if it's more of a pain to do than it sounds like.
Thanks!

It all depends really what type of window regulator it is.The 92-95 coupe have a track with teeth.96-2000 coupe has a track with teeth on power window models but the 4 door has two cables no teeth. If its track with teeth its easy.Remove your door panel. If you car has the plastic cover remove the bracket your door pocket screws onto, the part you grab onto to shut your door. Then slowly get a sharp knife and nip away at the glue to peel the plastic back. Then roll your window down.Enough that you can loosen then 2 10mm head bolts.DON'T take them out just loosen them slightly.Slide the bracket back, you will see where it bolts too and the holes are bigger so you can haul it off with the two 10mm head bolts attached. Then pry it towards you a little bit and haul your Glass up thoguh.Be careful not to scrath your tint if you have any. Then just unbolt you regulator and switch it out for another one. When you go to reintall your glass, slide it onto your runner on front first and haul up so it gets back on track and just bolt it back up.Hope this helps. Then just stick your plastic back to the glue you cut into.

oh man, this confused me. it's a 98 dx COUPE, manual windows. i'm assuming it has teeth, though it doesn't seem to fit with any of the categories you posted. thanks for the instructions anyway, i'm sure they'll be helpful when doing the job.

It was easy for me, once you take the door panel off you can see what you are working with. After that it is just a matter of taking some bolts off and replacing it with the new one. I think the only pain for me was getting that door panel back on the right way.

remove door panel, roll window down , if possible, remove the 2 bolts that hold the window to the regulator. unbolt regulator, then reverse steps.. so easy a caveman could do it, if he had a 10mm and a phillips.

It isn't too hard a job, I had to do it on both of mine (1997 DX).

cool thanks for all the replies! i did it on a 87 toyota pickup once and it was pretty straightforward but i look at the door of my honda and thought it seemed more difficult to get the door panel off. don't want to break anything while i'm doing it.

Make sure the regulator is bolted on straight.

Removing the door panel isn't hard. There's a screw behind the door lever, one inside the little handle recessed thing (on the cloth part), and three behind the speaker grill, which just pops off. Once you do that, use a paper clip to pop off the horse shoe shaped ring that holds the window crank on and it'll come right off. Then pry the door panel lightly from the bottom, it's just clips from here. At the end you kind of have to lift it over the top as it has a lip. And watch out for your speaker wire, it'll still be attached.

let the door heat up in the sun so when you pull the panel off you don't crack it to ****. Maybe open the door in such a way where the sun warms the panel. helpful tip idk.

That sounds like a good idea, they get really brittle.
