Default How does a B18B feel and how does it respond to mods?

im thinking about a B18B sway in my CX to save money. will it pull hard and be able to take a similar hatch with a b16?

with money being a concern, what can i do to it, if possible, to make it pull like a gsr in a cx?

thanks-

if you choose a b18b..it will pull hard in the lower gears until about 6krpms.. after that the party is over and the stock cams and head and manifold just can't make any more power..but if u get a gsr tranny or better... you will notice a improvement in every gear...but the only way to make it pull as hard as a GSR is to get cams/valvetrain.. plus a good header blah blah.. basically a stock LS will not pull as hard at high rpm since the redline is @7krpm
or you can step up toa b20b(z) and drop a gsr tranny on it..

How about a B20B with a B16 Tranny ? and what ECU would you use ? LS ? i was thinking about doing this for now then buying a B16 longblock and going CrVtec, but i wanna know would it be safe to Rev up to 7k or higher on the stock B20. any answers from you guys will be helpful

you should use a LS ecu.. though u can use a dx ecu as noted on the original Hybrid page b20 swap....but the b16 tranny will make the b20 pretty quick.. it will also make highway driving suck.. since you'll be close to 4400rpm @80mph...

i have a 98 hatch w/ a LS so far one month after swap i love it of course i want 2 go faster but thats everybody....only mods so far (type r AEM cold air, 2.5" stainless exhaust w/ gsr rear section and a ACT 6 puck unsprung clutch) coming soon is the head work.....crowers 404, valve train, blah blah so we will see how she responds to that.....oh and the 120 shot direct port cant wait.....also shout out to "97hb" he threw me some info thanks man......
