It's in your owners manual. I beleve that you hold the trip reset button and turn the key to the on position. Why is it on?

Push the trip odometer reset, turn the key until the dash lights all come on (don't start it)
Hold it until the Maint Reqd. Light shuts off.
Turn the key off and take your finger off the button.
The light comes on every so often, like at 25k miles, and then again at 40k or 50k. It's just a way for Honda to make money when people bring the cars in for the light being on, and they sell all sorts of services to the unsuspecting customer who doesn't know any better.
