How do you take off this dash piece on 5th gen civics? pic inside...
Here's a pic of the piece I'm talking about:
I need to take this piece off and replace it with another one, which I have, due to ******* thieves cracking it in the process of prying out my head unit . I know there's about 9 screws that holds it in, but have no clue how I'm supposed to get to them. I've heard some people say that you have to take off the entire dash, but I'm unclear of how to do that either. Someone please help cause I'm not trying to break any more of my interior pieces in the process. TIA

it has bolts that you have to take off on the back side of the dash, most people say you have to remove the dash to get to it.removing the dash is pretty easy.if you get a book, like a chilton or a helms,it shows all the locations to remove the dash.

When you say dash, you mean everything going back to the windshield right? TIA

look at the back of the peice you want to put in.. that's where you will have to get beind the peice and unscrew things.. i.e. remove stereo, and all dummy clips.. it's a fun time.. I'm pretty sure you can get it out with the dash in the car. I did.

u should tell him the trick instead of confusing him more
makes plenty of sense to me. should have all the holes where the screws go, then find them on the piece that's to be removed.

BAH, have fun... its seriously like an all day project. All those bolts are a BITCH to get to! You need like 3 differant tools and extensions to be able to get to them all - the brace under the steering column needs to come out - you need to recline your seat in such a way to be able to lay in the seat with your head where your feet normally are and twist your body in every which way
Have fun with that... haha !

just pull out your dash and do it ,look in a chilton,a dash can be removed in a hour if you take your time.removing the dash is pretty easy once you pull out your radio and cluster.
