How do you install a passenger's-side mirror?
I just picked one up from the junkyard for my 93 DX hatchback. Anyone know how to put these on? I presume you just pop off the plastic covers on both sides, slide the peg through the hole, screw the 3 nuts and that's that. I'm really not sure.
Err... Would I have to remove the inside door panel?

You have to pop off the door panel, or just unclip it and move it down enough so you can get to the bolts on the back of the mirror.
It's easy, just start unscrewing things, you'll figure it out.

One more thing, The seal is coming off. Someone said awhile ago that I'd need Silicone sealant. Is this what the sealant is for?

No more replies? I'm not sure if I should go out and get Silicone sealant for the lining that goes around that triangle-thingie.

I just did this to my VX like 2 weeks ago.
You'll have to remove the door panel and remove the inner mirror panel and then unbolt the outside mirror area cover. Once you have the mirror on, you'll find that your old inside cover will not fit, grab a dremel or drill and make a hole for your handle, mines ghetto right now, but if you sand it up it can look fine. Check out the hole on your driver side one, that will give you an idea of what you need on your passenger side plate. Also, yeah you should add the silicone for a good seal, leaks suck.

Re: How do you install a passenger's-side mirror? (civicmark)
I just finished putting the mirror in. However, it's loose somewhere. I can't figure out which part is loose. When I move the ****, the whole piece moves, like it's about to fold. I can move the mirror itself by hand, and I adjusted it that way. Basically the piece holding the mirror is kinda wobbly. I tried re-screwing the 3 screws under the piece, but it's still like that.
Any suggestions?

If you could find out where's it's moving, you could make a little plastic shim(sp) and glew it in?

Re: How do you install a passenger's-side mirror? (dom93hatch)
well, it will just pop out, however i would not recoment this at all. If you do it wrong, it will break the plastic piece either off of the mirror, or off of the mirror mount. Maybe you could just jam something into the part of the mirror that is inside the car, but before the plastic cover? Sorry if you dont really get what i'm saying, but it's kind of hard to describe

Damn! So, I will have to take the drivers side door panel off since it has a mirror Good thing there is not one on the passengers side. Can't wait to get my spoon mirrors (replicas) on this weekend
Can someone give me some quick tips to removing the door panel on a 93 Cx? Just where to start and where there are clips / screws. Thanks!

OMFG this thread is back from the dead!!!
I should post pics of it now that it's done. Some funny ****, actually. The mirror housing was drilled and we put a screw in to hold it in place. Now the mirror won't fold, but that doesn't bother me. Now the glass itself still points down automatically, so I stuffed in some folded paper to keep it straight.
Haha.....

Re: How do you install a passenger's-side mirror? (dom93hatch)
Well I couldn't find any pics of my mirror, so I'll just use the old one.
1) Took apart the housing for the mirror. I think there was some sort of fork acting as the folding mechanism...not sure. Anyway, that part was loose, so the housing wouldn't stay still. So I put in a screw to hold it in place. Now it won't fold. Who cares...
2) See the gap between the bottom of the glass and the housing? I stuffed some paper in there to keep it from pointing down at the road. Now it points backwards like any regular mirror.
