well i mean the SRS unit had to be removed, and the horn wire was in it...

So how do i get the + wire for the horn now? Since the SRS round thing with cruis/horn wires is gone?

you shouldnt have removed it. you should have just shorted the srs system. put it back on and give me a picture of the srs cable and Ill tell you how to short it.
this is an example of how you do it on a 99-00 civic.

hey monicle glad to see that quick release is working for u. Quick question, what kind of hub adapter is that? I like that it has that slot where the wires for the SRS come out. I had to remove mine to get the momo hub to fit.

its the Works Bell/Splash short boss. I picked mine up in japan but I think you can get them here for a bit more $$$. I had to pay $136 for mine over there.

Oh yes I've heard of those before. Ya pretty pricey, but they are really high quality and nice to look at unlike momo, hkb and other hubs

I just installed a new steering wheel myself in a 98 and it's actually pretty simple. You have to get a shoehorn from honda and trim it a little to screw on. The shoehorn has a male or female connector on it that plugs in underneath the steering column near the headlight switch meanwhile the other end will make contact with the copper backing on the hub...

If you're unsure what the shoehorn is there is a thread regarding it somewhere on the forum.

Once you get the shoehorn installed you have to connect the wire from the hub to the horn button and the other wire from the horn ring.

Mine works perfectly except yesterday when one of the little connectors behind the horn shifted and touched the other wire engaging my airhorns at 1am... It's safe to assume my neighbors weren't happy.

btw, i'm using a momo hub with a sparco lap5 steering wheel.

the shoehorn?

get it at honda for under $6

Part Number: 35259-SH3-A02

here's an idea of how to install it. IM me if you have more questions, I'm more than happy to help.

Just a recap to make it easier:

The shoe horn

One end touches the backside of the hub. The other end connects to a male connector that is already located on the underside of the steering column.

There is a wire out of the hub that connects to one of two connectors on the horn button. There is another wire that hooks up to the horn ring that also connects to the horn.
So two wires all together.

Viola you are done.

also you can see in the picture the little red circles. Those are pieces you need to snip to make it fit. I believe the shoe horn is originally from a 88-91 civic.
