Default How do u read the CEL with a jumper harness on the ECU?

I know that you are not able to use a scanner to read the CEL on a vehicle when you have a jumper harness that converts your OBD ECU's. SO how are u suppose to know what codes your car is throwing?

PLease let me know what Im suppose to do.

thanks

Will that work? I never used the 2 pin plug method because I have always had a scanner.

So if the 2 pin process and the scanner tool wont work, how do u read the CEL codes and what else is there to do?

ground the wire (if it is there) for pin d4 (on obd1 ecu). your check engine light will start dancing out what the problem is.

if there isn't a wire there... try a paperclip and a piece of wire for extension.. just don't hit adjacent pins or the brake switch, knock sensor, or vtec pressure switch may go 'wtf mate?!' depending on which you short to.

because you bought a cheap jumper harness that didn't wire up one wire
