How do Si dashboard swap in my 96 dx? And how do I fix the speedo?
Hey, as you can see im new to honda's, well having a car in general, anyway i wanted to know how to do an si dashboard swap in my 96 dx?? as you may know, there is no RPM in the 96 Manual Transmission DX civic's??? also my speedometer doesn't work either any ideas on how to fix it??

At the top of the black plastic bezel surrounding the instrument cluster there are two Phillips screws. Remove those. The bezel then comes out.
From there there are four Phillips screws, two on top and two on the bottom, holding the cluster in. Remove those and then gently pull the cluster forward and unplug all the plugs on the back.
Installation is the reverse of removal.
If you mean swapping out the climate control for the newer type (which I wouldn't recommend especially to someone new to all this), that's a lot more difficult.
The DX doesn't come with a tachometer, but the '96-'00 EX (manual transmission) and '99-'00 Si both do. They're both plug and play into your car. The '97-'01 CR-V is also plug and play, though the manual versions can get pricey (as can the Si cluster).
Does your car have a check engine light? If you do it could point to a problem with the VSS (vehicle speed sensor). When you turn the car on the check engine light should also briefly come on along with some of the other lights on the cluster before turning back off.
If you have a check engine light (CEL) then you can get it checked for free at Autozone and some other parts stores.

but how will the RPM read??? bcuz its stock as of now and it doesnt have an RPM gauge

^+1 i swapped a crv cluster into my dx i didint have a tach either and it works with no wiring its prewired

I've currently got a '97-'01 CR-V cluster in my '98 EX and another car we had here, a '97 CX (which don't come with tachometers) was swapped to a '96-'00 EX manual with no problems.

Tip: When you plug up the SI cluster...make sure all the lights work before you go screwing everything back in...if they don't...just replace them with the ones from your old cluster. You might have to pull the little blue bulb condoms off but it's simple.
When I got my SI cluster it had a few things out...I screwed it all in due to excitement...and had to go back and take it out to replace the bulbs lol.
Just throwing out some knowledge from my own mistakes. Best of luck.
