Default how do I seperate the shift linkage from the transmission?

I don't see a clip or anything that I can pop off to slide it out?

What's the deal here?

Sorry for the newbie question..I don't have any type of manual or anything to use, and this is my first Honda swap

there should be a rubber boot around the shaft where the transmission and shift linkage meet, move the boot and you will see a clipon there, unclip the clip and then you'll see a pin, using a punch to punch out the pin..

if u have an air compressor and a air chisel, use that to knock it out. it works really well, and quick. if not, take a big *** hammer, and start pounding. that **** is pretty a pain to get out. ur arms get all tired and uncirculated while ur under there too. and use jack stands, pounding causes the car to shake...be careful

I'll have to agree with this one. Sometimes the pin can be a beotch to get out though. Good luck

heh, thanks guys.

I think I'm kinda screwed though...

I kinda took out the shift linkage with the engine/tranny and now I can't figure out how to seperate it with it not in the car

Dang I feel dumb.

u can still take it out. just u have more room to work now. u have the shifter side out? do this, and u can knock it out from the top down, instead of bottom up.
