Its really not that bad, I bought my DX and was so used to power steering in my other cars. After about a week or so I got used to it...its just sometimes when your in a hurry and in a tight spot its kind of a pain, but not enough to make me want to swap in a PS rack. I'd just take it for a drive and see how it feels to you...Good luck https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

power steering is for pussies!...i like it better without p/s it feels like you have more control and youre turning the car not the cars turning you, more responsive

Just because you have no clue on how to help doesn't mean you have to be an asshole to the guy.

A 92-95 Civic EX, Si HB, or automatic Dx power sterring rack system can be installed into a non P/S Civic, but it will be a PITA.

There is a difference in size for the U-shaped bracket on the rear cross member too, so you'll have to figure out how to get the rack staked down onto the subframe. I believe the non-P/S cars have a smaller mount because the rack is smaller in diameter. Perhaos you could custom make a new bracket or weld one on the subframe from a P/S equipped Civic.

You'll need the rack itself, the hoses, hardlines, the pump itself, and the fluid resevoir from a donor car.

IMO it's not wirth the trouble. I actually converted my old 1992 Si from P/S to a non-P/S rack because I personally like the feel of a non-P/S rack.

unless you are running big wheels it will not be worth the pain or install P/S in your car.
i have a CX which has no P/S i have run 15" adn 16" and i turn it with out a problem..plus you have more feel for the road kinda makes you a better driver you can react to the car better
again not really worht it like Tom said

If you do do it, you might as well pick up an ITR/00+ GSR steering rack. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

it shouldnt be a problem. the hatch's dont weigh that much so the only time you will have ANY problem steering is when you are sitting stationary. My del sol has no power steering and its easy as hell to steer when driving, even stationary if the ground is wet. so dont sweat it dude, power steering isnt all that great unless for some reason you are really weak and you need to turn the wheel when you are stationary.

p/s. My bro's Dodge Stratus, the power steering went out, and that car is heavy as fuck. Its a bitch and a half to steer going slow, and even harder when stationary, so be happy u have a Hatch

how many of you telling him not to be a biatch have a swap like a b series in there car. ITS a big difference turning with that lil d series in there then a bseries. The d series was a joke to turn, but after my swap it took some geting used to it was hard. But i persoanlly love no ps alot more feels better. But to each his own iam sure you can get the parts you need from a junkyard try that first and then go from there. get all the parts you need, then worry about the install, if your serious about it https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

I have 2 1992 hatches with B Series swaps. One is my CX with no P/S, and the other is my wife's 1992 Si with P/S. I would not go through the trouble of converting either to the other configuration.

I purposefully took the P/S off my old 1992 Si Hb with a B18C5 in it because I liked the non P/S feel.

PS:

The non-P/S racks are slower though, so ideally you'd want an ITR rack if you're getting P/S or what I'd do is get an ITR rack and make it non P/S because I'm dumb like that. i also have no wiper motor, wipers, A/C, radio, etc. in my CX.

I'll still add my $.02 nonetheless.

92 CX running 195/50-15 tires. Daily driven commuter car, lack of PS is not a remote issue. If you're in a tiht spot for parking, as long as the car is rolling the tiniest bit, the steering isn't a burden at all.
