It won't happen.
As if stock civics aren't slow enough, the 5th and 6th ('92-'00) civic automatic transmissions were piles of **** in terms of transmitting power to the ground.
Your only bet is to go manual first - before you do anything.
If you did something hardcore such as turbo an automatic you'd get like, 1 mo tops out of it b4 the trans blows. So it's really a no-go situation.
auto > man conversions are civics are easy as cake - do one. It's worth it.
Also "civic coupe" doesn't really tell us ****.
It just tells us it's either the best engine H/A America made in '92-'95 or it's the second to worst engine H/A America made in '92-'95.
What trim level is it? If it's a DX I wouldn't even bother upgrading the engine even if it was a manual.
EX has "SOME" potential but I still wouldn't waste my money.
Both are useless as **** with an auto trans.

Sell the car and buy a manual with a swap (b/c you sound like you probably couldnt do one yourself).

torque converters FTMFL
Either convert it, or buy a car thats 5spd.
Dont waste any money trying to make it faster, it would be useless on an automatic.
