easy, took me 2 or 3 days to figure it out.
get a very strong breaker bar, soak the axle nut in PB blaster for an hour. Make sure the center cap on the rims are off. Get a fence pole. metal one, and attach it to the breaker bar (cheater bar). Now stand on that bitch, make sure the axle isnt staked too.

well your axle has a small slot that you have to bend your axle nut into ..... But what impact gun are you using? my Snapon gun takes them out unstaked or not

Re: (EX2SI)
its just a husky impact gun. i think were gonna resort to cutting off the nut with a torch we don't need the axles anymore. what do you think.

husky **** sucks..... it has less torque than your motor...... Go borrow a good quality impact gun and that bitch will come out... I guarantee it

un-stake the nut
soak with PB blaster
heat it up with a torch
then breaker bar
i have one on my hatch that i broke the 3/4 drive breaker bar with. i heated and PB blaster, and still wouldnt come off.
I ended up cutting the nut off with a grinder and got a new axle, then greased the splines in the hub so it wont happen again.

it happened to me when i changed my del sol's cv joint,
listen to me bro take a chisel and a hammer,
by hitting on the side of the nut, but make sure counter clockwise,
give strong hits
just like
hit......hit.....hit
make sure strong hits....
make sure after you open it replace it, dont use it again...

why would you EVER heat up the nut with heat? doesnt that just make it harder to move the nut, and easier to warp SHITT!? heat expands no?
so, ive tried everything in book, only thing that worked was, get a breaker bar from pepboys, and a 6 foot cheater bar, and a very good 32mm axle socket. Make sure the wheel is still on the car, put it in 1st with ebrake.
I was able to budge the frozen nut with one arm. this was the nut that was frozen for 2 weeks trying with all sort of impacts and stuff....if you cant get it off with a good breaker and 32mm socket, you got problems.
just make sure wheel is still on, just remove center cap

Re: (NScivic)
I got my axle nut off with a standard 2 ft breaker bar and axle nut socket just by hoping on it with someone stepping on the brakes. New England rust car with 250k miles, original axles original nut.

Re: (Skunk.Werks)
go to a tire place, ask them to loosen it and tighten it back up, they usually dont charge but tip the guy who do it for you.
Every car axle nut is going to be different, those that had come off not too long ago will be easy to take off but let see the one that been on for aout 12 year.
1000 ft lb impact wrench will take anything off

Re: (NScivic)
i had to do something just like that. i had to ground it off. this was all yesterday. i tried a 48" pipe wrench on a axle nut socket. i had to grind it off with a die grinder. if youre getting a new axle then youll get a new nut with it. scrap that bitch and cut it all up
