Did you read it at all? JDM red valve cover. Not spraypainted valvecover. Just get some soap and water and go at it. I don't think some dishsoap will damage it. Either that or car wash soap.

soap and water works well, clean inside also if oyu have it off, let it dry out though, as water can get stuck in the baffles.

use 4 quarters at the car wash and put it to "engine wash" mode and pressure wash the hell out of it.
then switch it to rinse mode and rinse it down baby!

I've heard bad things about that. If you do that make sure you aernt spraying your filter or your dizzy. Also make sure you don't get water down in your spark plug holes.

nothing wrong with it. some people are just idiots about it. dealerships and used car dealers pressure wash engines all day long.
just dont be dumb and get right up on your spark plugs with full pressure and you'll be just fine. the dizzy is sealed and the vent is out of the way of the pressure so you're good there too unless you do some sprayer acrobatics and shoot water right at it.
the nightmare comes from people with cracked dizzie caps or cracked spark plug boots where water could get by and cause the arcing once the engine was cranked again.

Ahh..thanks for clearing that up. I have a buddy who works at Honda in detial who always wants to clean my engine bay that way and I always decline as I'm terrified of destroying my dizzy that way. Guess maybe I'll try it now...

Exactly WTF I was talking about. Water in your engine bay is never a good thing I guess.

Hey Ricey buddy, sorry I overlooked on goddamn word. You seriously need to get a life or relieve some stress before posting. It's people like you that make me hate posting on Honda-Tech.

So you make a mistake, I correct you and you get your panties in a bunch? If you don't like it here don't come back. Simple as that.
EDIT: And I wasn't even a dick about it. I bet you were the same guy who cried in school when things didn't go his way.

i would really love to stand by and watch you guys when you clean your engine and manage to get water in there sooo easily the way you talk about it.
it really boggles my mind lol.
i've detailed maybe over 800 cars back in highschool at the local pontiac dealership and we NEVER repeat NEVER ran into those 2 problems using a pressure washer on them.
and some of them we had to clean 2-3 times heavily for over 10 minutes each time....
I mean hell guys, why do you think there's even an engine wash option at the self serve car washes....because it's common practice
something tells me there's a few ppl out there not doing something right.
