There's three holes. Only one allows for the screw to go through, but in that position the dizzy is facing with 1/2 directly up instead of at 8 o'clock like I see in pictures.

If I face the dizzy with 1/2 at 8 o'clock and 3 at noon, like I see in pics, then the holes that line up top and right have too much of a lip to allow a screw in.

I know I may need to mod it. But I need to know what position to put it in first.

IM HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM I GOT A D15B AND ALSO GOT THE DISTIBUTOR FOR THE D15 BUT ITS NOT FITTING RIGHT ONLY ONE WHOLE LINES UP RIGHT

line up the top bolt the one u have to use an open end 12 and try to make everything line up straight

It's REALLY not obvious which bolt is the top bolt. And depending on the enging dist combination the top bolt is going to be different. I learned all thsi through trial and error over the last few hours.

So...

Put the engine in TDC top dead center. This puts cylindar 1 on the compression stroke.

Line up your distributor with the two notches on the inside, it can only fit right one way, examine it. where the rotor button faces is where cylindar 1 is going to fire.

Looking at fireing order diagrams for your specific car, line up the dizzy so that # 1 is in line with the rotor button. I'm pretty sure this is how your dizzy HAS to face in order to work.


The only other idea I have is that you might be able to rotate the firing order of the wires if you are forced to rotated the distributer too far. But I'm not sure if this would work.

It's the wrong distributor. You need one from a '92-'95 Si, VX or JDM D15B. Nothing else bolts up with all 3 bolts; at least nothing else that is common in N. America.

Any D16Z6 dist would bolt up using all 3 mounting tabs. I had three of them laying around at one time and tested all of them on my JDM D15B before I sold them.
TD42U is the dist you need to get your hands on.

I GOT IT NOW THE SHOP I GOT IT FROM HAD A WRONG PIECE ON THERE THEY HAD A D16Y8 BACK PIECE INSTEAD OF A D15B SO IT ALL LINES UP RIGHT NOW..NOW JUST HAVING PROBLEMS WITH MY WIRING FOR THE D15
