Subscribed as well. Good luck, can't wait to see how it all turns out. I've been trying to figure out how to do a dash pull on my Civic but didn't know how, and here you're thread comes to the rescue lol. One question, where did you get the Honda technician service manual?
Thanks and good luck again.

BTW, I just looked at your location and see that you're in NY. I actually go to school in Brooklyn (I'm posting this from the school library ) so if you're close to Brooklyn and need extra hands let me know, I'll be glad to help.

[quote=DC2-ProdUcTiOnS;37458090]I would love to see pics...I know Krylon makes good paints...(use Krylon Wrinkle Red finish on your Valve Cover... ) What kind of prep work did you do? How many coats?
I'll head outside to get some pics in just a minute. After removing the interior panels down to the metal and all, I took each panel, or in some cases, console apart and took de-greaser and a nail brush and a tooth brush and throughly cleaned them. After I let them dry, to give them some texture, I used 320 grit sand paper and just lightly skuffed the panels. then I lightly went over everything with the first coat, and then let dry for about 20 min and did about 3 more full coats. Different directions. Horizontal, Vertical and then slanted. So that it got full coverage! On the Rear arm rest area, I dont know about on your EK, but my EG, you were able to pull the arm rest out? There is like 8 screws on the back of it. I did it with different paint. I used the Dupli-color Vinyl for this, and the Krylon for the rest of it. Subscribed By the WaY!

Re: The DIY Interior Project has BEGUN!!!
Ok...Im makin progress...I went next door and got the Dupont Plastic Cleaner. They gave me a nice application brush too... They also had me grab 2 Type-S Ultra Fine Scotch-Brite pads....They told me a little of the paste goes a long way. Im going to wash with hot water and soap, let the panels dry. Wash with a degreaser like "Fantastic" or comparable brand, and let dry. Then im going to use this plastic cleaner and the scuff pads while wearing rubber gloves. Remember, your cleaning it to get the oils OUT of the panels...do not handle with bare hands after being cleaned. Im going to wrap all of the pieces in plastic bags once fully cleaned and dried. Heres the products...
I also had him run the price for the Dupont paint that they HIGHLY suggested i use. ITS $90 FOR A BUCKET! The SEM is $10-$12 a can i believe, but you will need MULTIPLE cans to do the entire interior as i am. They said the bucket should be enough to do all the pieces. I think im gonna go for it. GO BIG OR GO HOME right? They can match the Landau Black by SEM for me, so i think thats the way im gonna go.
hope to have the first slot i reserved for further progress filled tonight or tomorrow with pics of cleaning procedures and process.

Re: The DIY Interior Project has BEGUN!!!
I'm planning on doing the exact same thing to my '99 civic this spring with black and silver, but I'm not yet confident which spraypaints and cleaners are the best to use. Keep up the good work -- and the info on what you're using!
