Default how to: convert from 96-98 to 99/00 Si/SiR center dash heat assembly with oem deck?

hey,
how do i convert from 96/98 center dash piece (deck and heat assembly) to a 99/00 Si/SiR? i know it will fit and i heard it has been done. i want to know exactly how it should be done and where to get the extra parts? does anyone know? i need step by step instructions if possible. the heat assembly in my 98 ek hatch is cable but the heat in 99/00 Si/SiR is digital ( **** that turns click...click). the reason for doing this is that my car got broken into and the center dash piece is totaly ripped and damaged . and i picked up a Si/SiR center piece heat assem with the oem deck. i want to put this one on since it came with the oem deck. anyone know what im talking about?
any info or advise will help. much appreciated. thx in advan.
thank you.

Its a lot of work. Since your 96-98 hvac controls are cable operated and the 99-00 controls are electric operated, you'll have to get all the wiring and junk for the 99-00 civic. Since your center is already messed up, you might want to take a trip to the junk yard and either pick up a 96-98 hvac (easier) or get everthing associated with the hvac swap for the 99-00 civic. I was gonna do it, but I didn't think it was worth the time and money to change everthing over. Good luck.

I know everything about it.

I was going to do it, till my research led me to find out that...

Every heater component from the 99civic needs to swap into your car, including 3 harnesses, the heaterbox, the blower motor. The 99 climate control doesn't fit correctly in the 96 dash, but it can be rigged to work, but wont look right. So add the 99 dash too.

Then get ready for some very creative wiring to get everything to work correctly.

It CAN be done, but it will cost a lot of money and a lot of time. If you really know what you are doing, and can read electronic schematics then you can do it.

Otherwise, put your money and time into something that does more then turn your heat control into a **** and give you a double din stereo opening.

thx for all the info. much appreciated and helpfull.
the guy that sold me his Si/SiR climate control reffered me to his mechanic. i went today to check out the place and i was informed that he did this type of conversion for three 96-98 civics already. he'd charged me $60 and it takes one full day. should i let him do it or just get a replacement (same 96-98) climate control? i was also thinking of getting the 97/98 1.6 el climate control since they are a direct fit without ANY modification. and the best thing is that they come with amber lighting which matches with my amber Si/SiR cluster.
what should i do? its very tempting for me to let the mechanic do it for just only 50 bucks but the thing is i cant leave my car for a day without being there to watch. ive got skool and work. what do u ppl think?
thank you.

I have purchased a 99 dash, heater core, all center console pieces/controls and etc. the problems is I know have to wire the damn thing so i can have seme heat! Please advise.. i am almost sure but not + the harnesses are mostly the same except the wire that leads off to the actuall motor that opens and closes the heater core inlet valve.... please help!
