How come my car isn't fast enough!?
Hi, i want to know how come my civic isn't fast enough
I have a 93 EG cx hatch with B16A swap and raced with my friend's S2000
But i lost quite badly. And this is a rolling start.
I won the first 2 gears, until when i got to 3rd, he suddenly pull away from me. I don't know why, but how come my car is so much slower!??
S2000 mods:
AEM CAI
Spoon throttle body
Spoon N1 cat back
My civic is a EG CX hatch
B16A swap
GSR tranny
Spoon flywheel
Centerforce clutch
Crower titian valve springs and retainer
Type R cams
11.2 compression ratio
type R head gasket
type R spark plug
NGK spark plug wires
CAI
UR crank pully
port and polish
blue print and balance
stright pipe
ITR b pipe
stock header and cx muffler
but even so, how come he pulled so much on me!? Is it because my GSR tranny gearing is too long?
We did this from rolling start. Like i said again, at first i pulled on him, then he pulled 2 cars on me immediately at 3rd.
Plz tell me what could be the possible problem.

u are right man. His 3rd gear was pretty ****** fast!!!!!!!
is like, i pulled on him first 2 gears thinking i m going to win
then my friend just flew by me after at 3rd and is like iwas sitting there damn it!!!!!
also i m using stock 14 inch rims which = shitty tires = shitty traction
whenever i go vtec in first i will spin the tires
a little in second. Just very little.

yeah thats what i was thinking
do u think if i put in the Type R or SIR tranny, DC JDM 4-1 header and type R muffler should help a bit? Cuz i have a type R muffler sitting aside but havn't install yet
that way, installing the 3 things, we should have a much closer race?

Lets see.....B16A hp at crank is 160-170. F20 hp at crank is 240-250.
That S2K, if it were stock, and your motor with its mods, will still beat you.
Got a dyno chart?
I'm guessing 190-210 hp at your crank with your mods.
The S2K is probably sittin' at 255-260 hp.
You still think you should win?
The only thing you got on him is weight. Driver skills are a must too. I've beaten many DOHC's with my SOHC. My last victory was over a EH w/ a B18A. Both of us were stock....driver skills won.
I'm not trying to be mean or make an enemy, just my points of view.
I really want to see a dyno chart. With all your hard work (money into your car) I'd like to see the exact hp at your crank and the wheels.

You have a decent setup. You are using the stock b16 header? With your setup I'm shocked you're using the stock CX muffler.. Ditch that muffler too. That thing can't shoot a pea through it.. Are you surprised you lost to an S2k. I'm sure he probably has at least 10wph if not more from his mods. Don't be discouraged..

Get rid of the ITR cams, throw in some wilder cams, get rid of the stock CX muffler, run it open header, and tune it. Then it should be fun.
