How to on cleaning IAC valve
I know I saw a step by step on this somewhere but I can't find it and when I tried to run a search all I got was the search server is down. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

first, take it off....you might have a small difficulty getting the hoses off...if you do, use a flat tip to pry it off (be careful, you dont want to tear or damage the hoses).
anyways, when you get it off, you'll see a screen, and 2 tubes. get some carb cleaner, and flush the hell outta those 2 stems and the screen, i used my fingernail, a cloth, and a small file to clean the screen. be careful not to tear the screen. after you think all the **** is outta it, blow through the screen, and the 2 stems with an air compressor until no liquid comes out. i would let it sit for at least 2-3 hours before putting it back on. hope that helps

Re: How to on cleaning IAC valve (Blazin Civic)
need to describe what year car? what motor? etc... but for civics the IACV is located behind the intake mani. it has two bolts and two radiator hose running into it. Before doing this, disconnect negative terminal battery so that ECU does not store any codes.
1) use a 10mm or 12mm socket and losen the two bolts.
2) losen the two radiator hose (use rags or cloth to catch the fluids, if any is spilling)
3) remove the IACV and open the screen
4) do not remove the O-ring
5) spray Brakecleaner or carbcleaner inside the screen
6) let dry for 2-3 hrs
7) reinstall the IACV and you're good to go.
don't take my word for it, you mite want to do some more search, i never really did this myself but seen some buddies done it and they say it works like a champ.

Re: How to on cleaning IAC valve (eg6_rick)
Alright thanks a lot guys. I got the thing off but I can't get the hoses off till tommorow because all my tools are at work (minus the 12mm wrench I found lol) and I need a pair of pliers to get the clamp off the coolant hoses. With the skunk 2 IM the IACV is really tight to get to haha. I'll bring it to work to clean this way I have an air compressor to blow all the crap out of it.
