How to clean under the fender?
I'm about to install all new suspension components and I want everything under the fenders to be clean. I tried soap and water, windex, a brush with plastic bristles and it didn't work.
What do I use to clean the grime and all the built up dirt/mud etc?
I remember seeing a post of some guy who cleaned all his suspension pieces and powdercoated them but I don't remember the name of the post or the member. Search also turned up 1000+ posts which I went thru the first 5 pages.

Alot of the gunk you are referring to is sound deading material! Without it you will hear alot of road noise, I would only suggest this to the upmost diehard drag racer! What you can use is alot of engine degreaser, Then sand down some of the material, then paint it! I did it on my old hb, and if done right, it will last a long time, and it will keep things down there looking nice!

My hatch isn't a daily driver, its my autocross/roadrace car and I don't really care much for road noise...
Now, what you are telling me to do is for what? Removing the gunk or cleaning the dirt under there?
Is there an easy way to remove the gunk? If not what can I use to just clean the built up dirt?
