Default How can i tell what kind of brake setup i have?

I own a 92 cx and my car is a mutt. I was told that my brakes were upgraded to si's. I thought i had the 92-95 si brakes (hxs will fit on the stock 92-95 si's)...but when i tried on my hxs...they didnt fit because of the gap between the rim and the caliper, so i had to use spacers. I was wondering if i have the 99-00 si brakes...is there any way to find out? My brake pads are wearing out...

What size are the rotors? This might help.

Okay, for 1992-1995 Civics let me say this:
1992-1993 Civics ALL have smaller rotors thatn the Integra - even the Si hatch and EX coupes in 1993.

1994-1995 EX and Si have same size rotors, but like DragII said the calipers eem to be smaller on the Civics.

Go outside, take the wheels off and measure your rotors.

How big are the fronts? Should be either 10.3" or 9.x"

Do you have discs or drums in the rear?

I'm assuming that you still have a 4-lug setup.

no they are NOT different in all cases.

MY 94 Si has same size brakes as DX/CX, etc....not now cause I have upgraded.

The 94 Si with ABS had the 10 inch rotors, as well as the other Civics with ABS

OK, I hope this helps you some.

I have a 1993 Civic EX Coupe and I have the 10.2" brake setup in front (similar to my Integra) and drums in the rear. This is how my car came from the factory, but some are saying that all 92-93 Civics had 9.x" rotors in previous posts in your thread. I don't know how true that is, but my Civic without ABS has 10.2" rotors up front and drums in the rear.

Also, it seems to me that if your caliper has a vertical "bar-looking" like thing on there, then you most likely have the 10.2" brake setup (similar to that of an Integra/99-00 Civic SI).

I hope this helps you out.
