How to bleed coolant

Default How to bleed coolant

I was just wondering because my idle goes up n dn for about 30 seconds before it idles rt and someone told me to bleed the coolant and I was wondering how. I didnt know u had to bleed coolant

fill rad with coolant
turn car on with the cap off until the fan turns on
fill more coolant if needed
wait until no more air bubbles come out
also might help to squeeze on the rad hoses to get some of the air out

or you could use the actual bleed-valve thing. Look on the flange where the upper radiator hose connects to the head....there's a little nipple/valve thing....turn car on, open the valve (10mm I think) until no more air bubbles come out.....close valve.....make sure and keep coolant full......viola

could be....could also be a leak somewhere. the idle on hondas tend to flux. a little bit w/ coolant thing.....bleed it then see how it does

Not all motors have the bleed bolt, my JDM B18C doesn't, ******* bummer it is. I'm going to replace the hose adapter for the upper hose to be able to use the bold. I'm tired of bleeding by watching for bubbles with the cap off.

Make sure you have the climate control set to full hot and leave it on full blast.

this is what i did when this happened to me and look at all the results. ahh the power of the search.

https://honda-tech.com/zerosearch go there and then type in idle but for now i'll help you

possible idle problems:
vac leak
air in radiator hoses
cracked mani
bad mani gasket
bad tb gasket
fitv needs to be cleaned and the screw inside needs to be screwed in
iacv needs to be cleaned out use carb cleaner
chipped ecu sometimes
thats off the top of my head i might have missed a couple
