Sorry but the USDM never got a B-series vtec model, meaning that we cant pass a B16 automatic through BAR. you have a few options, one convert to 5 speed, two put in a LS motor and BAR that. other then that you wont be able to get it through the ref since you dont have the proper ECU.

Umm, did i miss something here? Del Sol's came with a B16A and an automatic transmission.

yea im pretty sure there is no such thing as a auto usdm b16 in the del sol they only came with 5 spd. but there might be a way to use a 92-95 civic ex auto ecu get it chipped and tuned. p28 auto ecu might work.

yes, but they never came together that way. If the ref is really harsh he wont pass your car if they check the ECU and most of them do, A P28 is a SOHC ECU and a P30 will not work properly since non of the USDM are automatic. Sorry to burst your bubble.

Not together in the US. For BAR you are in a big pickle, which i dont think you could win. Ref is not dumb, they know there was no USDM B16 Auto. I would suggest going to the ref that you plan on BARing with and see if there is anything you could do in this situation.

hmm, maybe i was a little quick on that statement, i'll admit i checked wikipedia for that info, not always the best choice, according to the article the automatic transmission was an option on all models, but the general consensus seems to be that B16 equipped Del Sols did not come with an automatic transmission, fair enough. I somehow think your best bet now is swap in a 5 speed, its really not that hard, i've done it a couple of times. Or you might be able to slip someone some money to get your car passed.

I have a P30 OBD I ECU and its giving me an automatic transmission lockup code. Its a USDM sized ECU and its virgin so I really have no clue what the hell is going on with it... or what I have. From what I understand, a P30 ECU is a DOHC VTEC ECU so what did this come out of?

Re: (JDM EJ2)
Its either for a Del Sol DOHC vtec or a JDM civic SiR, in both cases its for a B16A. The 3 digits after the P30 will tell you the country of origin and whether or not the ECU is auto or manual.
from the patterns we can learn the following:
first letter = country of orgin
J = Japan
C= Canada
A=USA
G=Europe
second digit, if 5, 7, 9 then ecu is auto usually
third digit denotes the version/variation
info is from an unknown source, but it is correct.

Honestly, read the thread before you post. IT'S AN AUTOMATIC ECU. EXPLAIN THAT TO ME. Thank you for your oh-so enlightening information though, I have no clue what I would do without your plethora of knowledge.

You 100% jacked that from another thread on here then reposted it. Heres the code on the ECU, 37820-P30-900, go wild.

Re: (JDM EJ2)
I never claimed it was my own, i didn't know it came from H-T though, I stumbled across it quite some time ago and saved it as a text document, thats why i put unknown source. After some searching it would seem that the original author was Ki3t.

Re: (JDM EJ2)
That code shows that its a manual ECU, so i'm not sure why your getting code 19, but your not the only with that problem. I suppose there is the remote possibilty that someone swapped an automatic board in a manual ECU case to make a little extra money, but that seems unlikely to me.

Re: (94EG8)
With some careful searching on Google, I figured out that I have an ECU from a 1991 Civic Ferio Si-R B16A equipped with an automatic transmission. These Civics were EG9's while we were still stuck in the EF's. Anyone wanna buy it lol?
