How bad will scraping mess my car up?

just dumped my car on GC coilovers with stock shocks. i scrape over speed bumps or pretty much any incline in the road...and sometimes just when the road is uneven....it always seems to be scraping only toward the front right side by the cat though. is this gonna eat away at my car over time? should i raise it a bit?

in my old ek i had the same thing, but the only problem it ever caused was knocking my oil drain plug loose.

Any help is appreciated. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

hope you don't catch the oil pan

raise it up a little

2fast4u831 09-27-2004 07:45 AM

yea you should raise it a little man. Or youll end up with no exhaust one day.

Deemeetree 09-27-2004 07:48 AM

Hell on stock springs and struts I scrape my exhaust pipe, pretty much everyday. I can only imagine once I lower it a bit.

Sooner or later, all that scuffing will lead it to rub right through and cause a hole.

Mark Murda 09-27-2004 08:35 AM

I would raise it if i were U. I have that same problem and i'm living in hell because of it.NYC streets owns me!!. My exhaust split in two and now i have to deal with the loud exhaust noise. Then hope the cops don't stop me. I scraped my side skirts, and all over the bottem of my car really bad.The only good thing about the drop is the car looks great, and handles great. My advice is to raise it a bit.If not it's gonna be a pain in the a$$..

well, the thing is, i can't tell right now until i jack it up to see if it's just the front bumper and/or the tires rubbing, it only sounds like it's happen at the very front right, it doesn't scrape all the way down. might just need to raise the front a tad, we'll see https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

If you're selling it let someone else worry about lowering it. Just let who ever is going to buy it that it may or may not need to be lowered. All of this for nothing. http://images.honda-tech.com/set1//smile/emcrook.gif
