Default How about a K20A2?

Ok how about if I got a K20a2? Would that be alot better w/more potential than a gs-r or b16a2? I can get a k20a2 motor for $2900 Including install. The motor is clean w/low miles & is NOT STOLEN. Tell me what you think

k20a2 of course it'll have more potential than th GSR or B16a2 motors. $2900 including installation? sounds fake.

if you can seriously get the k20a2 for $2900 do it. but that is a REALLY low price, and i would be leary that it is incomplete, or not the k20a2 but rather the k20a3(regular rsx motor) and if you do get the k20a2, make sure u get yourself the 6 speed trans... world of a difference.

If it's local, (I'm gonna snake it out from under you :-x) check it out and make sure its actually running and inspect EVERY inch of it. Take someone you know and trust that knows a lot about engines and have him/her(we can dream) look over it and make sure it's okay. If it's legit and you can get all the paper work buy it. If it has to be shipped, don't even touch it.

Mounts alone range from $500 to almost $1000 dollars. I dont know but those numbers seem a little unrealistic.

i doubt its not stolen....a gs-r engine isnt even that cheap, i would definatly take someone to inspect every inch of that biznatch. Check the pistons, rods, the pin that connects the two (one of my buddies failed to do that and the number 4 piston/rod was not lubricated and they both physically flew through the block and there was a hole the size of a baseball in his block). Make sure the valves arent bent, cams are good, etc.. Give that biznatch a freakin cavity search baby!!!!

It costs almost $10,000 for a K20 Swap into an eg,dc,ek chassis if done the right way with the right parts... sounds saucy to me

i still am kind of weary about it, last shop i called said around 10 grand total for the motor and the install....7k difference makes you wonder.

check it out, if the guy who is selling it is legit i would seriously go for it, that is a ******* awesome deal.

the 10 grand is for the shop to do the whole thing, i have no doubt in my mind that if you did the swap yourself you could salve a lot of money but the engine alone is around 4k, either way 2900 is a damn good deal

This is also atypical for the normal guy. Given that a CX shell might run someone ~$800, and a K20A2 might be found for a very low price of $3500, you're up to $4300 with none of the swap stuff, which is extremely pricey, and no labor. $8-10K is the average number most of the K-series guys have hit, with the install done right and using legit parts.

I disagree completely. It's all about the people you know, the deals you can find and how much work you can do yourself. You can get that price down pretty low in some cases.

That's kind of like buying JUST the swap pieces though (mounts, axles, harness, etc.) and getting everything else for free. I suppose it's possible, but that's the deal of the year if it is true.

I just think it all depends. I have a friend, who is working with a guy, that just got a TSX K24 for $1800 for his EP. Papers included. That was the motor, complete but not installed, if I'm not mistaken. My friend, of course, is looking to do the exact same thing. I'd choke him if he didn't.

I don't know why that deal occured, don't get me wrong, it sounded rediculous. Stranger things have happenened.
