How to: 99-00 SI lip install on an 92-95 EG *pics*
99-00 SI front lip install on an EG !!
Yes i thought this was going to be hard and tuff and all, but once its done man was it cake, so this should clear up most of all how-to questions on this type of mod.
Tools Needed.
1) Philips screwdriver + Flathead
2) Socket wrench
3) sockets 10mm, 12mm
4) double sided 3m tape
5) Drill w/ 4-5mm drill bit
6) (2) long flatended screws
7) (2) two nuts
8) (1) short screw w/ (1) nut and wide washer
Start off by removing the front bumper, this was my 2nd attempt and let me tell you its loads easier with the bumper off, the lip just kept dropping and it was nite time. remove the 5 wide head philips screws that hold the front bumper to the front of the frame. the side screws you have to pull out the plastic guards and they hold the 2 edges of the bumper to the fenders and of course the 2 10 mm screws on the bottom that hold the bumper guard on the bottom to the car and your done, pull the sucka off !!
Once you have the bumper off take it in the house or whatever and lay the Si lip on top, as you can notice the middle bumper hole lines up with the middle lip bracket hole. so use your short screw w/ 1 nut & washer here, this pretty much secures the lip on pretty damn good.
now use some double side tape and be creative, and dont let it show either.. use it in areas that you want to secure, like for example the middle, middle sides and edges.. that will prevent the huge gap on the sides that most people have when they dont install the lip the proper way. but of course we will take care of that.. so its just not the double sided tape, it wouldnt hold on its own anyways..
see no gaps!
smooooth
Now this is what i did on the sides.. it took some real brain pondering to come up with this one!!
I used a drill and a 4mm or so bit and lined where i wanted the bumper to come back, when u look at the gap on the front sides push it in, the the ends stick out past the bumper then you can get an idea where to line up the hole to drill from either 2 holes on the ends of the lip. you want to make the hole just right so the long screw goes in tight that way you adjust it from the inside and nothing can be seen from the outside, put a nut at the end and let 2 or so threads show that way the tip can go in the hole and the nut secures it in place, the father you screw out the long nut the tigher the sides will come out, that way it eliminates the gap on the sides from the 00 si bumper being a bit wider
Left side
Right side
after this you are basically all done, just make sure that tape is on there good..
this is the finished product.
now back on da whip ..
and of course need to see the sides.. nothing to get worked over...
will have some daytime pics tomorrow.. yes it was nite time.. lol
i will have this how to on my site as well. so stop by.. comments welcome !

my friend ended up just cutting it all toegther.
and making stress cuts along the bottom to make it bend easier for the curve...
here are some crappy shots.

It sucks that it sticks out like that on each side, but overall it looks really good. Wish I had a bubble of my own

haha, that was pretty smart with what you did on the sides with the bolt. When i did it, just used a whole bunch of washers and a big screw, haha.

I must've read it a thousand times but I still don't understand how you did the sides. And from the pics it doesn't even look like they are bolted on. Could you try and explain that differently for me? Thanks.

Great How To! How wide is the gap on the sides. Looks in to be around less then a inch in the pics?

using the nut at the end of the long screw lets the tip of the screw go into the hole of the lip but not all the way because we have a lot of pressure there, the bumper hole holds tight so we dont worry about that one, although if you used 2 nuts then that would solve the problem from either side..
think i made myself clearer..
