Hot Spots Using LED Bulbs In Gauge Cluster

Hot Spots Using LED Bulbs In Gauge Cluster
So I've seen some people swap out the bulbs in their gauge clusters to LED bulbs but some spots looked brighter than others, I think they used the LED bulbs that have one led on them that shoot a straight light not really spread out. So if use a bulb like the one below will I still have those hot spots? That bulb has 3 led's around it so the light will be spread out more than just one shooting straight out.

Yes, this will spread out the light and help to eliminate hot spots. I was originally using single-SMD LEDs in my cluster, but when I switched to bulbs like the one you posted, my hot spots were almost gone.
Eventually though, the best solution for true LED-backlit gauges will be to install and LED strip. You can find DIYs for it here and via a simple google search

I use LEDs from them throughout the interior of my car, they work beautifully. No hot spots, good coverage. The festoon bulb especially lights up the interior of my car like day.

They're super expensive because they're a good product that'll do the job correctly without having to hack and slash anything. They also come with the bases. You'll never have to replace them again. Well worth the money.

They will go bad eventually all lights go out. My ebay lights have been good for years and will be good for a good while. Way good use for very cheap
