Horn stays on help!! Nrg(QR)&personal horn
I have a 93 del sol with an Nrg hub and quick release with a personal steering wheel/horn.
I followed everything on this link below on how to wire a horn, but once I connected the battery...the horn turned on and stayed on until I disconnected the battery.
https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-acura-28/____-nrg-short-hub-quick-release-nardi-steering-wheel-installation-pics-1887852/
Has anyone else experienced this problem or did I do something wrong along the way? Can anyone tell me if i made a mistake in any of the pictures below
-Horn does not go off when I connect the battery without the quick release on the hub
-Horn goes off once the quick release makes contact with the hub
Tapped into the horn on the srs cable. Tested it out by touching a metal piece somewhere in the car which set horn off
Got a piece of metal, which is attached to the wire that is tapped into the horn, to touch the back plate of the hub
Wired everything up
Wired the horn to the quick release. I believe that you dont have to connect that extra black wire to anything, from the threads i've read
quick release on the hub. [I connect the battery and the horn goes off without stopping until the battery is disconnected] (Note: didnt screw on the quick release to the steering wheel)
Horn does not go off when the quick release is off the hub. But once I touch the quick release to the hub the Horn goes off till battery disconnection
Just a picture of my sol back from the body shop. Asked the peeps at the shop to delete the license plate hole and side reflectors while they were at it. wooooooooooo
EDIT: Horn works when hub is pulled apart and seperate from the quick release

Re: Horn stays on help!! Nrg(QR)&personal horn
I just rechecked and didnt see any pinched wires. I actually tried it without any of the parts fastened down but the horn still went off when i connected the battery. So I think...i can rule out a pinched wire

Re: Horn stays on help!! Nrg(QR)&personal horn
I take back what i said. I think that it might be a pinched wire. But no matter what position i stuff the wires in, when i tighten the hex screws and put the quick release on the hub, the horn goes off.
When i leave em hanging like in the new picture above, the horn button works.
Its just that whenever i bolt on that last hub piece something happens and makes my horn go off when i attach the wheel to the hub

switch your wires around.. if the horn doesnt go off when pulled off the QR then something is making contact. If it isnt a pinched wire, then it might be the wires are backwards.
remember, somethings completing the circuit so check around.

Check the button switch at the steering wheel too. If you disconnect the button, and you still have continuity from power to body ground down at where the wires connect to the horn, then you're going to have to start tracing wires and see if there's an open... which will be fun times.
