maybe your horn is just bad. check with a volt meter if its getting any power - if it is most likely its the horn is just shot.,.. if it isn't then soemthing in the wiring is messed up

check to see if the wires to the horn are cut or if the plug is plug'd in. The ground wire may not be grounded also. Do you have a alarm system?

can you post some pics of this green plug and the cut wires? Your horn should be in the front of the radiator support...mainly behind the front bumper on the passenger side, with two wires coming out of the plug that plugs into the horn. There is a black, which is for ground, and I think a green/white wire(forgot)....check to see if those lead back to the cut ones.

I have this same problem with mine. The problem with mine is the cable reel is bad the horn relay gets its power from the cable reel. This would explain your srs light and the fact that you horn does not work. Also if you do have cruise control I am willing to bet that does not work either. Replace the cable reel in the steering wheel and fix you problem. Also checking for voltage at the horn won't work due to the fact the horn relay is powered by the cable reel. I bet you are getting an srs code 9-1. Let me know if you have any questions.

Where can i get a cable reel from? My other problem with taking the airbag off is that the screw is stripped and i have no idea how to take it out. I've heard of an easy out for paintball screws but don't know how it looks like.

This happened to me too but on my prelude. Some dumbass had installed a poorly styled ''sports'' wheel in the car and to install that they had to remove the cable reel, which meant removing cruise control, horn and srs airbag!

THe cable reel is basically the thing that stops the wires for the horn and the srs getting tangled when you turn the wheel. You can get one from your honda dealer but be warned, i got quoted £180!! See if you can get one off ebay, off a scrap yard or breakers.

I would imagine it would have to be from that model as it goes on the end of the steering column under the wheel. If you cannot find one, or they are too expensive, you coul feed the wires to another point in the car and install a button for the horn. This is what I had to do. But your srs may work if you got a cable reel so it could well be worth replacing.

My srs airbag had been completely removed! Have you taken the steering wheel off to check whether the cable reel or airbag is even there?

I can't remove my steering wheel because the screw that's holding it is stripped. Don't know how to remove it. The airbag is there because I pulled the airbag out a little to see the inside.

Your gonna have to ge that stripped screw out to replace the cable reel anyway. As the other guy said, I bet if you replace the reel the horn and airbag will work fine. Get someone to give you a hand removing the stripped screw... you may have to drill it out.

yeah like vtec-lude said you are going to have to get that screw out some how. I would say drilling would be your last option though. Get creative. Do you have a shop manual detailing how to do this job? As for your question about the cable reel I am fairly certain that you need the one for your model car. I don't know though. I might be able to get you the pages you need for this job, instant message me if you need help or if you need the pages. I don't know how much the cable reel's go for at the dealership, but can you put a price on your life, or your passengers if something ever happened? Trust me you would want those airbags to work. Good luck IM me if you need some info bro.
