hoping for some advice on fixing a crashed del sol...
Hi everyone, i just got a 94 del sol si for my christmas!
the bad thing is that i crashed it into a ditch on Dec 27 now the car is sitting in the shops, and they quoted me 3500$ (even more expensive than the price of this car) to fix the whole front end. (airbags are not included)
luckily, i can still be here and post this thread, and there isn't any serious damage was made to the motor. all the damage was the exterior (bumper support, radiator support, all the lights' mounts, hood, fenders... etc) any advice for me please ?
i was thinking to put some body kits on the car by myself, but, since i don't really know much about cars, i kind of give up on that.

1) It's illegal to drive with no insurance.
2) It's up to you if you want to fix the car or not, you want us to decide for you?

from what i've heard form the mechanic, he said he needs 1350$ to straighten the frame. what i was asking was trying to know if i should get all the parts ( bumper, hood, etc) to fix it by myself.

1350 to straighten a frame?
I could do it for you for free ^_^. Or I can have my bodyman at my shop do it for dirt cheap, lol.
3500 to fix a 3k car? No way. Overprice.
The whole front end in aftermarket parts would run you less than 500. Onlly paint and install i could see MAYBE 1k.

Did someone buy the car for you from a private owner or a dealership? It makes a difference, because it might be covered by temporary insurance (about 7-10 days) if purchased from a dealership.
If you had a insured vehicle or were covered under another policy prior to buying/receiving this vehicle for Christmas, you might also be covered. I know some car insurance policies will cover you if you buy another vehicle and get into an accident within a short period of time.
Lesson learned: Never get behind the wheel of a car that isn't insured...that's why they're called "accidents" instead of "on purposes".
