Hood Release broke: How to get in?
I got a 97 civic 4dr (ex).... the hood release is broken at the actual latch under the hood. Any idea's how to get the hood open to fix this issue?
Any one got a picture of the latch mechanism? I thought perhaps a screw driver maybe able to unhook the latch, but I wasn't sure.

You'll have to remove the splashguard from frame underneath and then remove the (3) bolts from the latch. Remove latch. Bummer and good luck

A saw. Just cut a giant window in your hood.
A guy I know just uses pliars. He grabs the cable the release pulls on and it pops the hood. 96-00 Civics are notorious for these breaking.
EDIT: oops, thought you were talking about the release. I think you may be able to get at it from underneath.
