Hood and J's Racing fitment on H22 eg?
Since I'm pulling my motor to sell it Tuesday afternoon, I am buying an h22 swap off a fellow H-T member. The swap comes with Avid motor mounts for a 92 civic... I've been hearing a bunch that the motor swap gives people problems with hood fitment. Everyone keeps saying that I wil have to cut the bottom side of my hood to make it close without trouble. I have an OEM c/f hood that I'm putting on after that swap if it makes a difference...
Also, I want to replace my POS intake with a J's Racing C/F short ram. Will there be any fitment problems with the h22? Thanks for any help.
Zach

the hood will fit fine, i have a 92 with the same motor and mounts. also the avid axles are even better than the mounts, i had to modift the driver side mount, (it hit the posts on the car side of the mount) but there is no problem with it hitting the hood (oem). It is really close, and you cant have your car too low because it will scrape the header all day long with the taller engine lower in the shorter bay.
as far as the intake, i used an injen, and cut 4 inches out of the straight part to put the filter just behind the headlight. (prelude intake)
if you get a civic intake it will not work because the lude TB is in a different place, and is larger.
There are, howerver, intakes from AEM and i believe Injen that are made specifically for that engine in that car
good luck, and label yuor wires!!!!!!!

okay i just realized that my pic on the left is of my hood and how it is all cut out, that was done after the motor for weight savings, it fit fine with all 6 extra lbs of reinforcement.
