hondata or skunk 2 ecu???
I have a gsr with bolt-on's and I have a obd 1 conversion with the skunk 2 ecu right now. I have been told that a hondata 100 would be alot better. What do you guys think??

not to say anything bad about skunk 2 but Hondata are specialist when it comes to tuning Honda ecu's so I would believe that you would get more power from Hondata but Skunk 2 is very good too.

a hondata is going to run 300ish and + tuning for it, ATP in fremont does them
Check out the Hondata Web Site, becuase u need a special ECU to run the Hondata, it might even work on the skunk2 ecu, but i don't think so
http://www.hondata.com
$245 s100 system - - speed limiter removed (if applicable), tunable fuel and ignition tables, expanded rpm fuel & ignition tables, VTEC control, adjustable rev limiter.
u need a p61 or p72 ecu or P72J ecu
ur skunk2 isn't bad, might as well put the money for something else, hondata help the most if your doing like nitrous or boosting the car.

Re: (QuickHatch)
I have been looking into this as well and from what I have seen I really like it
alot of the ITR guys run the S200 system due to the fact that is only $50 more and you can buy all the other kool stuff for it like data logging
and from what I understand of it essentually you are burning your own ecu programed chip through tunning that is especially made for you own set up
the thing that I really like about it is that there is no limit to the amount of times you can reprogram the chip for example if I was runing a D series motor with bolt ons and I switched to a B series you could use the same setup and all you would have to do is retune it for the ne motor
or B16 to CRVtec
or stock motor to motor with bolt ons
you get the point
so essentially all your doing is making you generic skunk 2 programed ecu into a custom ecu for your set up
oh and seeing as thoguh you already have the jumper just go ahead and get a OBD1 P28 or P72 and then get the Hondata that way you could sell the skunk 2 in order to gain $ back on your new toy

Re: (QuickHatch)
you might be able to push 5 HP out of your set up over stock.. but maybe not over the skunk program. I'd still get a Hondata over the skunk program anyday of the week. Kyle at KS motorsport has great prices on Hondata... give him a call.. thats where I got mine!!
