Default Hondata S100 vs S300

i talked to a guy at a shop where i live and i have a question and its really peoples opinion is what im looking for..

My question is i have a 2000 SI and i was thinking about getting it tuned to support some mods that i have just done and a few that are ordered..he told me for my build to save the money on a S300 and buy the S100 with OBD2a to OBD1 jumper harness and have him tune it with that..i asked him the difference between the two and he said the S100 can only be programmed by him and the S300 can be messed with anyone with a lap top..i dont have any crazy mods done nor will i with this motor because im building a b18 but im just wondering what would be the best for the money in this situation

whats mods I/H/E? If so why waste you money on s300? Just go Crome.

Depending on if the b18 is going into the same car or not and what mods it would have on it I would probably spring for the s300 more for future use than anything. If your keeping the same motor in there though and the b18 is for something else I would just pick up the s100.
