Default HondaGuy8 EJ1 Build

Hi Guys, I'm new to the site and wanted to introduce myself aswell as start a build thread. My name George, I drive a 95 civic ex coupe D16z6 automatic. Please not make fun of the automatic part, their is a reason for it. I have a mild case of cerebral palsy, so I have about 50-75% use in my right side. I just learned how to drive Manual, and will being doing a motor and trans swap come Feb/March time frame. I look foward to geting to know everyone on here. I had my car since early 2005. Here is a picture of the car when I was 18.

The car looked like this for a few years then I got tired of the show look and primed the care white.

once I got the money together in NOV of 2011 I got the car painted Black with a Satin Finish and got my carbonfiber trunck and hoold recleared

after I got the car back from paint I got the nirtous kit I have on the car a few years ago re-installed along with the zex window switch. I also put a different valve cover on

after that as you can tell from other pictures my car was setting like a 4x4. So I went with a skunk2 suspension set up.

after I got the car lowered, I felt there was too much black on the car. Plus I've had them for 7 year so the paint was starting to look bad. So I got them re-done to match my lower control arms. I also put on armber corners and a new set of stock tail lights

Here is my mod list
Exterior
-VIS EVO style Carbon fiber hood( with removable rain guard)
-VIS OEM style carbon Fiber Truck.
-knock of Rota Rims, but hey they weigh about 11lbs
- Paint: Black with a Satin Finish

Interior
-apexi VFAC II and Turbo Timer. (came as a package deal so I went ahead and installed time both)

Motor
-D16z6
-Short Ram Intake
-Greddy Header
-Custom Exhaust
- Trans Cooler
-Zex 55 shot wet kit ( have jets for 75 shot)

future plans
Tans/motor swap

hope you guys like the progress on my car so far.

have not had a chance to make it to the track. I been working every Friday night. Thats when my local track has open track time. I will be swapping in a JDM B16A. Since I will be doing a Manual swap at the same time, that the motor that fits my budget. I will also being boosting it, shortly after the swap

You did a pretty good job returning that 2Fast2Furious civic back to a clean coupe. I'd trade or sell that hood for a carbon one like said above. Good choice on a B16a I have one myself that i'll be using. More updates!

Good looking car...now anyways lol. Is it difficult to drive stick w/ your condition? Dont feel like you have to do a manual trans conversion on the car to have a better motor. Can also do auto b16a...
Will definately be following this thread

Driving a manual car is something I always wanted to do, since before I
could drive. I remember when I was growing up my Mom and Dad had a 1985
300ZX 2+2 with a 5 speed, I loved that car. That what started my interest
in cars in the first place. It was a little difficult for me to learn how
to drive manual, it took my 5 years off and on. People kept giving up on
me, but I still wanted to learn. about 9-10 months ago I had a griend who
had and old datsun truck and an 89 240 hatchback. He was able to learn in 2
days with him teaching me. he took about 3 miles away from his house the
first day to an empty parking lot, in the datsun truck. I started getting
good in the parking lot about the time we had to leave. So what does he do,
he makes me drive it home. The roads were pretty busy so I tried to talk
him out of making me drive. I was so nervous but I was able to make it home
and I didn't even stall. The next day he let me drive is 240, agian, I had
not problem. His 240 had a short throw shifter in it, it was a lot easier
for me to shift. After he thaought me how to drive another friend of mine
who has a B16A swapped CRX let me drive it. Man I loved it, I was hooked.
Now I just need my own manual car so I can drive one everyday and get even
better.

I just let the insurance company have it. I just did not want to deal with it.

alright guys I have decide what I going to do with the car. I am going with a K swap. K20a to be exact. also since my gaudge cluster dose not work I am going to replace it W\ the Neptune RD1. all the parts for my build and have been order including my suspension and Rims

Gold rota slips 15x7, S Drives 205\50\15

ST Suspension coilovers

Stage 2 Clutch, light weight fly wheel, piping, exhaught muffler, motor\ trans mount, fuel pressure regulator W\ Gaudge

exhaust resonators, and header flange

Radiator

S2 suspension components

The reason you see all the pipings is because we are going to build a custom header, exhaust and Cold Air intake for the project. I should have all the parts needed to start the project by Friday, monday at the latest. I cant wait to get started.

cant do a compression check unless u can power the starter to crank it over fast enough to make compression. you can not do this by hand. a leak down test is about all you can do.
