Default are honda valves just noisy?

this weekend i went ahead and did a valve adjustment. the car runs alot better i must say, but there is still some type of valve tapping. i thought when an adjustment was done it gets rid of this?

when i'm around 3K i can still hear the vavles tap. is it just me? or are honda engines (especially DOHC) like this? do i need to re-adjust?

Are you sure that what you're hearing is valve noise and not the injectors (which are quite loud)?

the engine is a B16A, i know the injectors are loud because when i shut the car off they're the las thing i hear, but i didn't know they can make a tapping noise? can they?

like i said, around 3K (like when i'm idled in 3K)it's alittle noisy. after 3K it's quite quiet.

sometimes the valve spring retainers wear down and get burnt but it wouldnt make that much of a difference.

when i had my GSR engine my valves made the same ticking sound.... i adjusted the valves like 3 times but after i talked to a few sources, they said it was perfectly normal, and nothing to worry about.

Agreed....listen to the injectors....unless you didn't use the correct feeler gauges when you did your Valve adjustment.

Well, it's more of a "ticking" rather than a "tapping", but people often mistake injector noise for valve noise. It should, however, be relatively constant, not isolated around 3,000 RPM.

it could very well be the injectors, but i notice it more around 3K since that's the rpm i usually cruise at (50-55MPH).
