Honda SRS light/system problem
I replaced my stock steering wheel with a replacement steering wheel from another Honda Del Sol. Now my air bag SRS warning light is turning on and staying on when I drive the car.
I checked the wiring connection in the steering wheel and it is okay. All of the SRS fuses and main fuse are all working.
The car has never been in an accident and before the steering wheel swap everything worked fine and the SRS warning light was off...any ideas what happened or how to fix it?
Facts:
1993 Honda Del Sol Si with steering wheel airbag only. No passenger side air bag.
SRS dash warning light is on.
Fuses are fine.
Connections are connected.
SRS warning light is stuck on?

Re: Honda SRS light/system problem
I did some more searching and found out that I need to follow a process using the MES connector under the dash. In case anybody cares, there are two links that will help anyone who needs to reset their SRS warning system after the replacement of the airbag or steering wheel...or some other part of the system.

Apparently, when I took the old steering wheel off and disconnected the stock airbag I accidentally sent a warning through the SRS system's computer. This warning disables the SRS system in order to prevent accidental engagement/deployment of the airbag. The manufacturer anticipated this problem and created a service process for resetting the SRS warning system. In the above article and video you can see how to reset your SRS system for yourself.
