Honda Motors for Dummies
Hi...
I've been asking my boyfriend to explain this to me for ages, but I'm trying to learn the different symbols for the honda motors and what car they go in. Like I know that an H22 is a Prelude and a b16 goes in a civic and a b18 goes in an integra, but I don't understand what the b1 or c1 or y8 after it means...could anyone give me a list, or at least a couple??
Thanks

Re: (hoo my gosh)
Well I'll explain a little bit here that I didn't see in the link up there. Maybe I missed it cuz I'm retarded lol. But for Honda Motors is usually goes like this.
X##X#
X - letter (ie: B D K H F)
# - number
So for example a D16Y8, let's break it down
D16 - this is the bottom half of the motor, or block, D means it's a D series motor, and the 16 means the motor size is 1.6 liters
Y8 - This is the cylinder head that sits on top of the block.
Check out these motors to learn a little. You can click on them to see what motor came in what car and such, it's pretty useful.
